Caption: Steve Parkhurst reviews various Bible verses in Catalan Sign Language with a group of Deaf Catholics at Santa Teresa de l’Infant Jesús parish. This group is led by Father Xavier Pagès (rear center) who is hearing and a strong Catholic advocate for Bible translation. He is part of the Catholic Pastoral Committee for the Deaf in Spain. In Barcelona, Spain a team including hearing and Deaf is working together to translate the Bible into Catalan and Spanish Sign Language. Resources for the project have been provided by both Catholic and Evangelical churches. Their united goal is to see the word of God enrich the lives of the Spanish Deaf population.
