Caption: This group of Deaf Catholics at Santa Teresa de l’Infant Jesús parish helps to check passages of Scripture translated into Catalan Sign Language. The group is led by Father Xavier Pagès (second from right) who is hearing and a strong Catholic advocate for Bible translation. He is part of the Catholic Pastoral Committee for the Deaf in Spain. In Barcelona, Spain a team including hearing and Deaf is working together to translate the Bible into Catalan and Spanish Sign Language. Resources for the project have been provided by both Catholic and Evangelical churches. Their united goal is to see the word of God enrich the lives of the Spanish Deaf population.
