Caption: Steve Parkhurst demonstrates motion-capture technology. Specialized cameras capture and record every movement he makes while wearing a special suit with sensors. From these recordings, a 3D animated avatar is created. This technology has greatly increased the speed of the translation project. In Barcelona, Spain a team including hearing and Deaf is working together to translate the Bible into Catalan and Spanish Sign Language. Resources for the project have been provided by both Catholic and Evangelical churches. Their united goal is to see the word of God enrich the lives of the Spanish Deaf population.
