In Barcelona, Spain a team including hearing and Deaf is working together to translate the Bible into Catalan and Spanish Sign Language. Resources for the project have been provided by both Catholic and Evangelical churches. Their united goal is to see the word of God enrich the lives of the Spanish Deaf population. Spain has three main sign languages: Spanish Sign Language (LSE), Catalan Sign Language (LSC) and Valencian Sign Language (LSV). Spanish and Catalan are the most prevalent, with about 100,000 users between the two languages.
