Caption: Kaiwá Bible translator Salvador Sanches poses for a photo in front of his house. In the background is his wife, Sonia, and the reference books that he uses for translation. Salvador's neighbours consider him to be rich as he has a very nice house. Salvador works full-time as a night watchman at the local school which is where he works on the Bible translation during his rounds. Kaiwá people live on their own small individual ranch with their own gardens and animals. They do not live in a group village scenario as other people indigenous to the Americas do.
