Caption: Kaiwá Bible translator Salvador Sanches holds the texts that he must take to church to be able to access the full Scripture. In his hands he holds the Kaiwa New Testament, the Kaiwa Minor Prophets publication, the Kaiwa Psalms and Proverbs book, the Kaiwa Genesis book, the Kaiwa songbook and on top the Portuguese Bible just in case the reading is from a part of the Old Testament which isn't translated yet. Salvador says, "If the Bible came out in one whole book it would be wonderful! That’s a lot to take – I’m getting tired carrying all this weight! If I can carry just one Bible, I will be very happy." Salvador has been working for decades to complete a full Kaiwá Bible translation.
